Spiritual & Mythological Significance

  • This sculpture represents the sacred union of Lord Shiva, the ascetic god of destruction and transformation, and Goddess Parvati, the embodiment of love, fertility, and devotion.

  • The moment depicted is Shiva-Parvati Kalyanam, a divine wedding described in texts like the Shiva Purana and Skanda Purana, where Himalaya (Parvati’s father) gives her hand in marriage to Shiva.

  • It symbolizes the balance of energyShiva (masculine, cosmic power) united with Shakti (feminine, creative force).
