Sandalwood Carving – Maharana Pratap Talwar (Sword)

By Mohit Jangid
Size: 4 ft
Material: Sandalwood
Featuring: 7 Secret Storytelling Windows
Prestigiously Gifted To: Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji

It is a carved anthem of courage, a timeless relic of Rajput valor, forged not in steel—but in the soul of sandalwood, by the hands of master artist Mohit Jangid.

The Maharana Pratap Sandalwood Talwar, standing 4 feet tall, captures the spirit of Mewar in every grain. It echoes the roar of Chetak’s gallop, the clash of dignity and empire, and the eternal flame of freedom that Maharana Pratap lit in the heart of India.

What appears at first glance as a ceremonial sword is, in truth, a sculptural marvel. Hidden within its form are 7 secret opening panels, each a gateway to a miniature world—carved scenes that narrate the life of a warrior king with reverence and artistic genius.

The Windows Within: The Silent Saga

Open each panel, and you step into an epic:

  1. The Battle of Haldighati – dust rising, spears flying, Pratap’s sword raised in defiance.

  2. Chetak’s Final Leap – a horse’s loyalty carved in motion, mid-air, mid-sacrifice.

  3. Jungle Exile – Pratap in rags, feeding dry rotis to his daughter, yet never bowing.

  4. Refusal to Submit to Akbar – the silent thunder of his resolve.

  5. Saints & Swords – blessings in exile, the flame of dharma burning bright.

  6. Oath of Independence – carved fingers to the sky, a vow etched in sandalwood.

  7. Raj Tilak at Chavand – the warrior crowned not by empire, but by legacy.

Each scene is hand-carved using traditional Rajasthani micro-carving tools, bringing forward expressions, movement, architecture, and battle—all within windows no larger than a palm.
