A finely carved sandalwood recreation of the eighteenth-century Ramnagar Palace workbox, originally made in ivory and now held in the Royal Collection, reinterpreted by Mohit Jangid in the rich, aromatic medium of Sandalwood. The piece faithfully preserves the architectural features of the original, including the mirrored forecourt, stepped entrance with intricate carvings, pillared balcony, and roof terrace, along with a hinged lid opening to a silk-lined interior embroidered in silver and red floral motifs. This recreation honors the historic craftsmanship traditions of Varanasi while adapting the delicate ivory work into durable, finely detailed wood carving.
